{"id":938,"date":"2017-09-27T09:55:18","date_gmt":"2017-09-27T06:55:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/carglass.ee\/calibration\/"},"modified":"2022-01-24T10:04:08","modified_gmt":"2022-01-24T08:04:08","slug":"calibration","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/carglass.ee\/en\/services\/calibration\/","title":{"rendered":"Recalibration"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><strong>ADAS windscreen recalibration<\/strong><\/h1>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>What is an ADAS or windscreen recalibration?<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Windscreen recalibration <\/strong>is a process aimed at properly aligning the car\u2019s sensors and cameras so that the <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/kgAJlYWH2EQ\" rel=\"noopener\">advanced driver assistance system or ADAS<\/a> can work in the intended manner and meet the standards required by the manufacturer. We use <strong>Hella Gutmann CSC<\/strong>\u00a0(camera sensor calibration) equipment and after replacing a front windscreen, we perform a <strong>camera<\/strong> <strong>recalibration<\/strong>, if necessary, to restore the system to the condition it was in prior to the replacement. If recalibration isn\u2019t performed, the sensors and cameras will no longer measure distance and obstacles correctly, and potential hazards to yourself and others can easily emerge, especially if you\u2019re used to trusting the ADAS!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">For example, just a +1\u00b0 angle may cause a significant measurement error and potential hazard:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the wrong interpretation of the surrounding environment \u2013 an object is closer than it appears to the camera<\/li>\n<li>the driver gets false alarms or no alert at all, because the sensors and cameras are not working together as they should<\/li>\n<li><strong>if you trust an<\/strong> <strong>ADAS that hasn\u2019t been recalibrated<\/strong>, whether or not you\u2019re aware that it hasn\u2019t been recalibrated, an accident is very likely!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>After replacing a windscreen,<strong> Carglass\u00ae <\/strong>can always recalibrate the ADAS according to the standard originally installed by the manufacturer. We issue a <strong>recalibration certificate<\/strong> as confirmation that successful calibration has taken place. The most important cameras are located in the upper part of the front windscreen and are factory calibrated. Note: The successful completion of the process requires the right weather and road conditions &#8211; the pavement markings must be clearly visible!
