A repaired windscreen is just as durable as it was prior to being damaged.<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>rigidity of the chassis\u00a0<\/strong>is not compromised because the windscreen does not need to be removed. Note: The windscreen accounts for around 30% of the rigidity of the entire chassis.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Speed &amp; time<\/strong>\u2013 Glass repairs take just 30-60 minutes, compared to three hours for replacement.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Money &amp; savings<\/strong><strong>\u202f<\/strong>\u2013 Repairing chips normally turns out to be much cheaper than replacing an entire windscreen.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Comprehensive insurance<\/strong><strong>\u202f<\/strong>\u2013 All insurance companies favour repairs if rock chips are involved, because they come with no excess and have no impact on insurance premiums.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Green thinking<\/strong>\u202f\u2013 Since they result in almost zero waste compared to windscreen replacements, repairs are very environmentally friendly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We will be happy to repair your windscreen provided that it\u00a0<strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">meets the conditions<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>and you are prepared to take the\u202f<strong>risks <\/strong>that accompany such repairs.\u00a0Namely, additional pressure is placed on the glass in the course of the repairs, which can cause a chip to develop into a crack (albeit only in around 5% of cases).<\/p>\n<p>You should also bear in mind that although repairs are generally effective, \u202f<strong>visually erasing or \u2018removing\u2019 chips from a<\/strong>\u202f<strong>windscreen<\/strong>\u202fis never entirely possible. In the course of the repairs we \u2018glue\u2019 the chip together, as a result of which it can still be seen in the glass. Depending on the nature of the chip, however, it may end up being less visible than it was before being repaired.<\/p>\n<p>If it turns out that the chip does not meet the conditions required for it to be repaired, or attempts to repair it prove unsuccessful, you will need to consider replacing your windscreen \u2013 what glass to use, how much it will cost and when it can be done.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.carglass.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/v21-esiklaasi-vahetus-4-etapp-carglass.png\">The four main conditions for chip repairs are as follows:<\/a><\/span><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>The chip is not in the driver\u2019s field of vision.<\/li>\n<li>The chip is not in the operating area of the driver assistance system\u2019s cameras or rain sensor (usually in front of the rear-view mirror).<\/li>\n<li>The chip and any offshoots are no wider than 2.5 cm in diameter (i.e. the size of a two-euro coin).<\/li>\n<li>The chip is at least 6 cm from the edge of the windscreen.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Repairing chips is not possible on:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>rear windscreens; or<\/li>\n<li>side windows.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Windscreen chip repair<\/h3>\n<div class='content-column one_half'><h3><strong>Stage I<\/strong><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Preparation of the damaged area for repair. Next, we place a special device on the damaged area, creating a vacuum. Then we solidify the polymer using a special UV tool. Once the polymer has solidified we remove any excess polymer and polish the repaired area to ensure perfect smoothness.
